How to Clean Cork Flooring Tile
Cleaning cork floor tiles is a straightforward job with tough finishes that make tile easy to clean and maintain. Cork flooring is naturally anti-allergenic, antistatic and resistant to mold and mildew. Most cork tiles are finished with a durable, clear vinyl or UV cured acrylic coating. It functions as a long lasting shield to protect against scratches and dents. The natural resilience of cork floors are enhanced with water based urethane that seals the surface against humidity. It can outperform vinyl, hardwood and linoleum tiles. Clean floors regularly with a vacuum or fine bristle broom. Damp mop occasionally with a pH balanced cleaning solution, such as a mild liquid dish soap. Wipe off any soapy residue with another pass of the mop. A wood floor cleaner that has been diluted in water is another option. Avoid abrasive substances, oils and waxes as well as products with ammonia. Check cork tile flooring every year for wear and tear. Re-varnish the whole surface or just in well worn areas. Alternately, use the manufacturers recommended polish at least once a year to apply a protective wear layer. |
